Makes you question what you would do in force majeure events, but also masculinity and women « instinct » vs « man instinct » very good exploration of masculinity. Not convinced by the end that shows that women can also put their kids second in force majeure events, I think women are forced by society to think about their kids, and in the bus instances, she would probably feel stressed for her kids or first herself but would have taken the kids. The man crying in the hallway and the kids begging the mom to help him was great too, showing women duty, being a mother, handling conflict and masculinity Thought provoking :) had a discussion with Ryan on it during, and he acted exactly like the ginger guy, I liked the parallel with the other couple that shows that this topic will create debate and force men to question their masculinity
Une famille suédoise passe ensemble quelques précieux jours de vacances dans une station de sports d’hiver des Alpes françaises. Le soleil brille et les pistes sont magnifiques mais lors d’un déjeuner dans un restaurant de montagne, une avalanche vient tout bouleverser. Les clients du restaurant sont pris de panique, Ebba, la mère, appelle son mari Tomas à l’aide tout en essayant de protéger leurs enfants, alors que Tomas, lui, a pris la fuite ne pensant qu’à sauver sa peau… Mais le désastre annoncé ne se produit pas, l’avalanche s’est arrêtée juste avant le restaurant, et la réalité reprend son cours au milieu des rires nerveux. Il n’y a aucun dommage visible, et pourtant, l’univers familial est ébranlé. La réaction inattendue de Tomas va les amener à réévaluer leurs rôles et leurs certitudes, un point d’interrogation planant au dessus du père en particulier. Alors que la fin des vacances approche, le mariage de Tomas et d’Ebba est pendu à un fil, et Tomas tente désespérément de reprendre sa place de patriarche de la famille. Snow Therapy est une comédie grinçante sur le rôle de l’homme au sein de la famille moderne.
J'ai adoré ! Un petit moment de panique en vacances fait éclater une famille. Cette comédie noire montre surtout la fragilité des humains : face au danger, nos réactions ne sont pas toujours celles qu’on imagine, et ça peut bouleverser toute une famille.
