La fanfare des ouvriers d'une mine de charbon qui va être fermée : sur fond de lutte sociale durant les années Thatcher dans Yorkshire.
Film sous côté qui mériterai une meilleure notoriété. Sur l'affiche il ne donne pas tellement l'envie du visionnage, bien qu'il y est un bon casting. Une fois l'histoire en marche, on est emporté par la musique et attaché aux personnages qui l'a joue. Il y a également un message politique derrière cette comédie dramatique. On se surprend parfois à rire du malheur des protagonistes par le burlesque de certaines scènes. Canal+
