Le rythme peut par moment sembler lent, j'aurais aimé plus de scènes d'action, et j'ai bien aimé la relation entre pita et creasy.
Gross dinguerie en vrai, dommage que les effets rendent pas trop bien à l’écran
Je présume que pour l'époque, le film devait encore être assez original. Malheureusement, aujourd'hui, avec Equalizer, Taken et tout le toutim, j'avais l'impression d'avoir déjà vu plein de films similaires. Je ne vais pas trop le pénaliser non plus pour ceux qui sont passés après, parce que ça restait un thriller d'action efficace, avec quelques retournements de situation intéressants et un contexte crédible. Les effets de superposition d'images, de changement de couleurs, qui font frôler la crise d'épilepsie, rendent le tout assez dynamique ; c'était toutefois un peu trop utilisé. Au final, c'est le début que j'ai préféré. Bon jeu de la part de Denzel Washington et une chouette complicité entre lui et Dakota Fanning.
John W. Creasy, un ex-agent de la CIA devenu alcoolique, se fait engager comme garde du corps par Samuel Ramos, membre d'une famille bourgeoise de Mexico, afin d'empêcher un éventuel rapt de sa fille Pita. Les enlèvements sont en effet monnaie courante dans toute l'Amérique latine. Le garde du corps, au bord du suicide, exerce froidement son métier dans un premier temps, rejetant la fillette de neuf ans qui cherche en lui un ami. SPOIL : La fillette de fait enlever, mais John, au péril de sa vie, finit parla retrouver. Sur Netflix. C'est bien, prenant, très bien joué, mais c'est trop long et trop violent.
C'est long... Trop long à se mettre en place.
