Une bande de trois petits arnaqueurs dépouille par hasard un convoyeur de fonds d'un grand bandit de la pègre de New York. Celui-ci cherche à se venger et tue Luther, un des arnaqueurs qui a participé au vol. Avant de se faire assassiner, Luther remet à Johnny Hooker la carte de visite d'un ancien grand faisandier : Henry Gondorff. Johnny se rend donc à Chicago pour rencontrer Henry.

La chute est sympa et quelques scènes aussi. Absence d’une grande musique et de quelques autres choses. Ne vaut pas un bon vieux film français d’après moi.
