39 avisDe belles couleurs... Un film assez esthétique au sens 1er du terme... De beaux textes comme on les aime avec Woody Allen Pose des questions sur le rapport au réel et à la spiritualité.
Un grand magicien vient démasquer une voyante à la demande d’un ami magicien. La voyante et l’ami magicien sont de mèche et ont lancé cette arnaque. La grand magicien le découvre près avoir annoncé à la presse que la voyante était vraie. Il finit par tomber amoureux de la voyante et l’épouse
Stanley Crawford is a man who makes a living tracking and exposing swindlers. When he tries to learn the truth about a crook, he starts to believe she is genuinely gifted.
I think I would’ve loved it very much if the ending was, again, not “falling in love with someone you’re not supposed to” but something else. The aesthetic of the time of the movie and culture was great as well as the contrast of the language between Stanley from London and Sophie from Micchigan. I hoped the movie made the friendship between these two more special than romanticising the phenomenon of just “falling in love with someone you’re not supposed to”. Guess I watched too many movies and drama that this kind of ending doesn’t entertain me anymore. So 6 out of 10.
