Just finished The Metamorphosis - Kafka I hate the ending not because it's poorly written but because it's well written. It's just how it should be and I hate it it's so disturbing I almost cried lol, it's so unfair.. His sister was the one he was was the most close to, he expressed how he loves her and the rest of his family before dying and they just.. Didn't care at all and started living when his life ended. They didn't even mention his name or anything. They didn't ask the maid if she removed the corpse, they didn't even care she had to said it herself. I was so sad for him during the whole book, for instance when he wanted to go back to his bedroom just like his father wanted too but he couldn't manage to because he was too large for the door.. It's so unfair. I love it but I hate it.

Summary

Community Reviews

Readers find Kafka's 'La Métamorphose' a profound exploration of societal rejection and personal transformation, though its dark and oppressive themes can be unsettling. Many appreciate the deep social critique and Kafka's unique narrative style, but some struggle with the disturbing content and the bleakness of the storyline. The metaphor of transformation resonates with readers, offering multiple interpretations, yet the literal depiction of Gregor as an insect sometimes overshadows the allegorical intent.

👍 Profound social critique and narrative style.

👎 Disturbing content and bleak storyline.
