I really need to read more black stories. Back when I was a young girl, I can’t even tell how many books with a black women as the main character I have read but I’m sure it’s close to 0. It is refreshing to be able to relate to Yinka the way I did. She reminds me of myself in so many ways. Standing for ourselves and the insecurities. I really loved seeing her find herself and being herself unapologetically. I recommend this book which is more than just a romcom like I thought it was going to be. It’s about a black woman freeing herself from the expectations. What is meant to be will be.
