Summary

The Musée Zadkine, located in the heart of Paris, France, is a museum dedicated to the works of the renowned Russian sculptor, Ossip Zadkine. Nestled near the Jardin du Luxembourg, the museum is a treasure trove of about 300 sculptures, drawings, photographs, and tapestries. It is open daily except for Mondays, with an admission fee charged only during exhibitions. The museum also boasts a beautiful garden, free for visitors to explore. The museum was established in 1982 by Valentine Prax, Zadkine's wife, who bequeathed their home and studio, along with Zadkine's personal collection, to the City of Paris. Since its inauguration, the museum has expanded its collection through purchases and now hosts 3 to 4 exhibits of contemporary art each year. In 2012, the museum underwent renovations to enhance its accessibility and reopened on its thirtieth anniversary with a new design that reflects the spirit of Zadkine's workshop. Since 2013, the Zadkine Museum has been part of the public institution Paris Musées, one of the 14 City of Paris' Museums. The nearest transport links are the Port-Royal and Vavin metro and RER stations.
