The Musée national Gustave Moreau, located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, is an art museum dedicated to the works of the Symbolist painter Gustave Moreau. Originally Moreau's dwelling, it was transformed into a studio and museum of his work in 1895, with his apartment still intact on the first floor. The museum spans three floors, with six rooms on the ground floor overlooking a garden, four of which are adorned with drawings and sketches dedicated to the Italian masters. The first floor serves as a reminder of its original purpose as Moreau's residence, while the second floor houses a large studio-room. The third floor features two larger rooms. The museum's collection comprises around 1200 paintings, pastels, watercolors, and 4830 drawings, including notable works such as The Apparition, Jupiter and Semele, Chimera, and The Return of the Argonauts. The museum is open daily except Tuesdays, with an admission fee. The nearest métro stations are Saint-Georges and Trinité – d'Estienne d'Orves.
