War drama 2014 USA Produced by Angelina Jolie Screenplay by Joel and Ethan Coen Starring Jack O’Connell = Louis Zamperini Louis is a bombardier in the Air Forces in WWII. During a bombing mission against Japan his plane is hit by enemy fire. He survived and spent almost a month on rafts in the middle of ocean. Japanese army found him with two others bombardier. They became prisoners and are interrogated for information. He didn’t reveal important information but he is transferred to Japan camp. One of Japan chief is especcially hard on him, beating him. He had the opportunity to say to his family that he’s alive by broadcast only if he accept to do anti-american propaganda. He refuses and returns to camp. After two hard years to be humilitated, tortured, … it’s almost the end of the war and prisoners are transfered to havé no chances to be find by american army. The chief became worst than ever and one day Louis took a break during work and the chief punished him to take a large wooden beam and hold it over his head. Guards are the order to shoot Louis if he drops it. Louis resists so much time so the chief beat him for defiantly eye contact. Louis is liberated at the end of the war. That inspered of a real story. At the end of the movie they explain that Louis went back in Japan few years after, met several guards but the chief refusée to see him. He also ran the the olympics fire cause he was an olympian runner when he was young. Avis J’ai beaucoup aimé comme tout ces films de guerre. Je trouvais intéressant de voir ce qu’il se passait aussi hors de l’Europe pendant la seconde guerre mondiale et les histoires parallèles qui se sont déroulées.
