The film may not have featured many outright scary scenes or characters, but its atmosphere was crafted so effectively that it successfully conveyed a sense of fear. Additionally, the filmmakers employed a concept that, while not entirely original, managed to avoid feeling clichéd. Although the film could have been scarier, it nevertheless left a lasting impact.
