J'ai bien aimé ce film canadien. Aujourd'hui, vu le temps maussade je n'étais fâchée de voir un film sur la nature, la montagne. Un jeune québécois laisse tout tomber, surtout son super job dans la publicité et débarque en Provence où il a pour projet de devenir berger. Il en possède la théorie après avoir bcp lu mais le voilà en pratique avec tout ce que cela comporte de déboires, de charges... il persiste avec sa jeune compagne qui elle aussi, fonctionnaire à l'ANPE, a tout lâché pour partir à l'aventure avec lui. On en apprend beaucoup sur le métier de berger. Très intéressant par ailleurs et puis, bien sûr, il y a le loup, bête noire des bergers. Un film simple mais beau, de belles images de la montagne que je n'ai plus l'occasion de voir hélas mais je l'aime tj autant.
Synopsis
Mathyas swaps his Montreal life as a young advertising executive for that of a shepherd in Provence. But the road to his longed-for pastoral tranquility is littered with hard work. Through self-deprecation, Mathyas survives the violent delirium and decay of the first farmhouse where he begins his apprenticeship. But the arrival of Élise, a civil servant also searching for meaning, gives Mathyas' quest a new direction. Together, they embark on a transhumance. Through the trials and tribulations of the mountains, and with a herd to support, they forge a new life for themselves.
