This movie was great, way better than the first and second Sonic, really good. Jim Carrey is fantastic in this and he carries this entire movie. Sure, Shadow and Sonic’s interactions were cool and enjoyable, but Jim Carrey playing both Robotnik’s was just incredible. I loved the VR montage, it was so goofy and unexpected, and I also love the Laser Dance scene, it came out of nowhere and it was the best scene in this movie. Also the fight scenes are great and the visuals look amazing. I liked when both Super Sonic and Super Shadow fought across the globe, they would punch each other past different environments and it was shot well and I liked how intense it was. All the characters are charismatic and funny, I didn’t feel like there was any annoying or “bad” characters or bad plot or dialogue, so that’s always a plus. The movie going experience was also amazing, the theater I was at had a group that was REALLY into Sonic so it was fun to be in a movie theater where they would freak out at all the cool parts of the movie. Definitely a top in-person movie theater experience. It’s sad to see Jim Carey’s character go, I feel like this is it for Dr. Robotniks character in the Sonic movies, maybe a recast or something if they want to go the “Alternate Universe” Eggman route? Also, if Shadow is truly dead, then it’s such a waste of a good character, I really liked him, but I have a feeling there’s more to the ending than Dr. Robotnik and Shadow just… dying. They could’ve survived or the explosion could maybe teleport them or something. Many unanswered questions from the ending that are hyping me up for Sonic 4. (UPDATE: The post credit scene with Shadow picking up his bracelets confirms he’s alive, so that’s good to see, Shadow is still alive.) Overall I had a lot of fun and really liked this movie, I’d watch it again cause I know there’s probably things I missed and also scenes I want to rewatch. Definitely the best out of the 3 Sonic movies. Sidenote: the scene where both Robotniks meet each other, there was this crazy 4th wall break that was so funny and I couldn’t believe it, I was like completely thrown off, it was great.
