Magnifique film, tellement émouvant. Mélanie Thierry et le jeune garçon qui l'accompagne sont merveilleux. L'action se situe en 1942 en Ukraine, les juifs sont arrêtés. Le film débute sur la fuite d'une maman et de son garçon qu'elle a décidé de confier à une amie en qui elle a confiance qui n'est autre que la fille de la bonne de la maison. Mariana est prostituée dans une maison close fréquentée par les allemands. Elle recueille cet enfant qui dort dans un placard chaque fois qu'il doit se cacher. Là, il rêve, revoit sa famille, son père, pharmacien, arrêté par la gestion, son dernier anniversaire, Anna, sa petite amie qu'il adore. Ces pensées l'aident à supporter son enferment. Mariana souffre elle aussi, alors ils se soutiennent l'un et l'autre. Un enfant sauvé. Une histoire vécue. Un livre. On en ressort tellement remué. J'ai mis du temps à faire redescendre la pression.
Synopsis
In the darkest days of the Second World War, Yulia and Hugo, a Jewish mother and son, escape from a Ukrainian ghetto. Fearing for his safety, Yulia entrusts her boy to the care of her friend Mariana, a sex worker who lives in a brothel. Hugo is placed in a closet, nominally for his safety, but from which he rarely leaves. With little view of the outside world, he conjures up ghosts and scenarios. But over time, Mariana brings the boy out and in doing so transforms his life.
