The film is praised for its faithful adaptation, enchanting special effects, and the strong performances by its young cast. It evokes a strong sense of nostalgia and wonder, making it a favorite for both new viewers and those revisiting their childhood. However, some note that the film, being the first in the series, has a more childlike tone compared to its successors.

👎 Some viewers find the film's tone too childlike and less engaging than later entries in the series.

537 reviewsi remember for a long time my mum had forbidden me from watching Harry Potter. she thought it was way too spiritual and way too magical for her, and i still did it, and I have to say it has become one of my comfort movies. i could never imagine not watching Harry Potter at least twice in the year. i’m really thankful for the whole wizarding world universe that has quite altered my perspectives of life in a way. it is such a touching thing to have a movie where you can go back and say: peace.
Le boug a deux visages
Without the nostalgia this movie is kinda shitty
