I went into the theater having really high expectations. I left the theater, hesitantly satisfied with some cool scenes and the Dr Doom post credit scene. I didn’t have many specific things to complain about, but I had this underlying feeling that prevented me from fully enjoying this film. I think I might be getting tired of Marvel movies. Now, I’m not 100% sure I mean this statement, and I might just be in the wrong headspace spouting off nonsense. But this movie has made me realize that Marvel can’t just make ‘ok’ movies. They have to be great. And this wasn’t great. It was fine, serviceable to the majority that watched this. But it could’ve been more. Better pacing, better colors, better story. I expected so much from this film, the trailer looked amazing and the actors were phenomenal, but this just didn’t deliver. Galactus felt like an omnipotent and power god, bold and intimidating, until Invisible Women single handedly whooped his ass all by herself. Mr Fantastic wasn’t fantastic, hardly using his stretching powers in combat and only using them for trivial things like flipping a far away switch. And the fucking baby, resurrecting her. It’s just so predictable and mediocre it almost ruins the whole movie for me. I enjoyed the chemistry and dialogue between the Fantastic 4, I just can’t get past some of this stuff and I think I’ve hit a point where I’m (somewhat) fed up with these films. 7/10. (PS: I woke up this day at 7 am, and I watched this with my friends at 11:00. I’m aware that many factors could’ve gone to why I feel this way about this film. Maybe my mood, maybe slight sleep deprivation, etc. I know my opinion probably differs from the majority of people who watched this, but this is ultimately my experience how I experienced it, so take my opinion with a grain of salt)

Vu avec ares au cinéma c'est vraiment une bonne surprise j'ai adoré. Le côté rétro futuriste est super et l'histoire aussi mais dès fois le film est un peu chiant donc il ne vaut pas un 10. Mais je voudrais le regarder à nouveau un de ces jours car il est vraiment sympa. 🌀 Résumé Contexte : Années 60 (univers alternatif Earth-828, style rétro-futuriste). Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm et Ben Grimm gagnent leurs pouvoirs après une expédition spatiale exposée au flux cosmique. Famille avant tout : Reed et Sue élèvent déjà leur bébé, Franklin Richards, qui intrigue par un potentiel cosmique latent. Les tensions familiales (Reed absorbé par la science, Sue partagée entre maternité et héroïsme, Ben souffrant de son apparence, Johnny flamboyant) structurent le récit. Antagonistes : Shalla-Bal, Surfeuse d’Argent et héraut de Galactus, arrive pour préparer la Terre. Elle est partagée entre loyauté à Galactus et fascination pour l’humanité. Galactus (voix de Ralph Ineson), colosse cosmique, menace de dévorer la planète et repère Franklin comme un futur danger. Intrigue : Plusieurs affrontements avec Shalla-Bal, qui finit par douter de son maître. Le quatuor tente de stopper Galactus, mais Reed comprend qu’il faut utiliser l’énergie de Franklin pour l’affaiblir. Sue accepte de mettre son fils en première ligne, protégée par son champ de force. Galactus est repoussé, mais jure de revenir. Shalla-Bal trahit Galactus et s’exile. Résolution : Franklin devient le centre d’attention cosmique. Ben trouve l’acceptation de son apparence. Johnny devient une star médiatique. La famille reste soudée mais menacée. Scènes post-crédits : Mid-credits : apparition de Docteur Doom (joué par Robert Downey Jr.), s’intéressant à Franklin. Post-credits : message de détresse venu de l’univers principal (Terre-616), teaser du lien avec les Avengers (Doomsday et Secret Wars). 👉 En clair : c’est une origin story familiale, avec un ton rétro et émotionnel, où l’ennemi n’est pas seulement Galactus mais aussi la peur de perdre un enfant. Et ça prépare l’entrée des 4 Fantastiques dans le MCU principal.
