Opinions on the 'Minecraft' movie are mixed, with some viewers appreciating the visual effects and nods to the game's universe, while others criticize its plot and deviation from game mechanics. The film's humor and action scenes received mixed reactions, with some finding them entertaining and others feeling overwhelmed. The performances of Jack Black and Jason Momoa were noted, but the overall storyline and character development left many viewers wanting more coherence and depth.
👍 Visual effects and game universe nods are highlights.
👎 Plot deviations and overwhelming action might disappoint.

I hated it. Had I not paid to see it in 4DX 3D, I would've left the room halfway through. The storyline wasn't interesting, and I'm not hard to please when it comes to movies. The special effects were decent. I guess some Minecraft fans who don't care about plots would love it.
jack black and jason are funny as always, but the movie itself was dissapointing and kind of ridiculous imo. I didn't like the plot, the acting (though I don't think the point of this movie was to show the people an amazing acting) wasn't the best...Just not my thing, but I went to the movies with my boyfriend's little cousin and he loved it so ig it's a great movie for children :)
I had an overall poor experience with this movie. Lots of stuff that I don’t understand why they did what they did. Firstly, this has the same issue that the super Mario Brothers movie has. It has completely unrelated songs that don’t match the movie’s tone. Minecraft has so many incredible songs, and they either used outdated songs like “You my little boo thing” or generic orchestral action music. It’s generic, boring, and a disservice to the fans and what they expected music-wise. Secondly, they really deviated from the actual Minecraft mechanics, like boots of swiftness iron golem, or the main villain being this weird piglin witch thing. I felt like they could have kept it simple and stuck to what people know. The Ender Dragon, stuff like that. Thirdly, the beginning of the movie felt very rushed, trying to explain all of Minecraft in only a few minutes. Jack Black narrates a lot in the beginning, and I felt like you could show instead of tell. Honestly, I’d say it’s the worst opening I’ve seen for a movie. For the stuff I like: Ireally like the Enderman scene. It was trippy and cool to see how the Endermen work realistically. Also cool Herobrine Easter egg in that scene. I also like the post credit scene, it’s super simple but I like that they’re introducing Alex. Other than that, I feel like all this movie is missing is a better plot that aligns more with how Minecraft actually is played, and less of the awkward jokes. 5/10
