Je ne suis pas forcément la cible de ce genre de film, mais en voyant le casting solide et surtout le logo A24 à la production, je me suis laissé tenter, et au final, c’est une bonne surprise. Je n’en attendais rien, pourtant le film parvient à captiver grâce à un excellent jeu d’acteurs et à des personnages bien marqués, malgré un scénario d’une simplicité extrême. Ce n’est clairement pas le film de l’année, d’autant plus que tout est prévisible dès les premières minutes, mais il dégage une authenticité et une atmosphère sincère qui le rendent agréable à suivre. La photographie est particulièrement réussie, et certaines scènes, notamment celle de la boîte techno, traduisent avec justesse l’intensité émotionnelle des personnages. En revanche, le final m’a franchement désarçonné, et pas dans le bon sens. Ce choix narratif casse un peu la cohérence générale et laisse un goût amer, sans pour autant ruiner totalement l’expérience. En somme, un film sympathique, bien joué et esthétiquement maîtrisé, mais dont la fin empêche vraiment d’en garder un souvenir fort.

Disappointed want to watch again Acton was poor attention and story was poor and I would have liked to see different female cast
Babygirl's explicit affair between Romy and Samuel serves as the primary plot of the erotic thriller, but the themes of the film are entirely rooted within Romy's personal growth and eventual acceptance of her sexuality. Samuel himself remains something of a cipher in the film, purposefully so. Instead, the entire emotional growth of the movie is centered on Romy overcoming her colder and withdrawn elements. Instead of lying to Jacob or angrily lashing out with revelations about their relationship, Romy ends the film being honest with him and actually achieving satisfaction with their romance.
Pretty good! Great acting.
