Community Reviews
Opinions on 'Black Phone 2' are mixed, with some viewers appreciating the focus on dream sequences and the visually distinct treatment of dreams versus reality. The film's homage to 80s horror and practical effects were highlights for many. However, criticisms include underdeveloped new characters, corny dialogue, and a sense of predictability. While some found it an improvement over its predecessor, others felt it lacked originality and was overly reliant on horror clichés.
👍 Creative dream sequences and practical effects
👎 Some new characters and dialogues felt flat

It was just ok. It had some slightly memorable highs but plenty of lows. First off, this wasn’t a bad sequel. I liked the original better, but I like how the sister was the main focus and it delved more into dream stuff. In terms of like dreams and intense sequences, I really enjoyed it. That final scene, even though it felt kinda all over the place, I still enjoyed it. Visually this movie is beautiful. My favorite aspect of this movie is how they differentiate dreams in real life. Dreams were shot on film, while real life was shot digitally, which I really liked. However, every new character, aside from Finn, the sister, and the dad, I genuinely did not care about. Ernesto was boring, the Hispanic camp counselor had his moments but still not that memorable, and I don’t think Mustang did anything in this film. The dialogue was also super corny at times and lots of weird conversations that feel disjointed and off. Also, at the beginning of the movie, Finn didn’t believe his sister’s dreams??? Didn’t she save you using her dreams in the first movie???? I don’t know, lots of weird character flaws and dialogue issues. Overall, it was fine. I enjoyed the cool Dream film sequences and the Dream sequence at the end was fun to watch and root for Finn and his sister, but I am not watching this again. 6/10
This sequel was equally good if not better than the first movie which is easily a supernatural horror favorite of mine. This time much of the action takes place in the spirit realm with real impact in the physical realm. Loved it really.
-Love how he came back as a ghost -Amazing detail -First one was better
