Synopsis
A woman starts exhibiting increasingly disturbing behavior after asking her husband for a divorce. Suspicions of infidelity soon give way to something much more sinister.

For me, the film Possession underlines the real problem of a romantic relationship, the distance. Upon Mark's arrival even on her journey Anna lacked his presence which allowed her to fantasize about a brand new totally perfect Mark as she wanted. This also explains the metamorphosis of her lover (the creature) into a new Mark, but from a much more different and bewitching point of view. Which also uncovers the reason why Anna and Mark were no longer attracted to each other, because Anna and Mark had also given birth to their forbidden lovers like the teacher on Mark's side and the creature on the side from Anna. That's why this film is a pure masterpiece and Andrzej Zulawski is a real genius.
