Film en apparence simple, mais porté par des dialogues d’une précision redoutable. Deux personnages, un appartement et un mal de dos suffisent pour créer une comédie parfaitement rythmée, soutenue par un duo irrésistiblement fusionnel Sa simplicité fait sa force, mais aussi sa limite: la mise en scène très théâtrale et des rôles secondaires réduits à faire rebondir les gags donnent parfois l’impression d’une pièce filmée, un peu trop sage pour du cinéma. Malgré ça, l’efficacité de l’écriture est tellement réussie que le tout passe sans effort
Synopsis
For Pierre Brochant and his friends, Wednesday is “Idiots' Day”. The idea is simple: each person has to bring along an idiot. The one who brings the most spectacular idiot wins the prize. Tonight, Brochant is ecstatic. He has found a gem. The ultimate idiot, “A world champion idiot!”. What Brochant doesn’t know is that Pignon is a real jinx, a past master in the art of bringing on catastrophes...

Avec le grand Jacques Villeret. Un remake américain existe (The Dinner) avec Steve Carell et Paul Rudd.
