Viewers are captivated by 'A Very Long Engagement,' praising its intricate plot and stunning visuals that effectively blend historical drama with a poignant love story. The film's rich portrayal of post-WWI France and the personal quest of Mathilde, played brilliantly by Audrey Tautou, deeply resonates. While the narrative's complexity and emotional depth are highlights, some find the pacing slow and the story occasionally hard to follow.
