27 reviewsMost definitely a slow burn and more of a thriller than actual horror (despite the body horror at the end) Always a fan of McAvoy 👄, I think this was another great performance. Central themes: -women’s intuition is always better than men’s -head of the family isn’t always the male: when it came to the important decisions I find that the wife was able to overcome fear and act for her family. While her husband tried, there were instances where she needed to comfort him into action, where she was the least hysterical despite the way he dismisses her. However there is a redemption arc where he jumps out the window, breaking his ankles to hoist the ladder up for his family and the boy. The Boy!! That absolutely palpable scene of him killing McAvoy’s character is horrific in of itself!
Film très frustrant parce que le père est le personnage le plus incapable possible, mais le méchant, James MacAvoy a vraiment une personnalité complexe et intéressante, il carry le film
-made me so uncomfortable -so much suspense
