Community Reviews

Viewers are captivated by 'Mississippi Burning' for its intense portrayal of a dark chapter in American history, highlighted by stellar performances from Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe. The film's powerful depiction of racial tensions and investigative drama makes it a compelling watch, despite some criticism for its sensationalism and limited perspective on the actual victims of segregation. The emotional weight and dynamic character interactions, especially involving Frances McDormand, add depth to the narrative, making it a must-see for those interested in the complexities of civil rights issues.

👍 Stellar performances and intense narrative

👎 Potential sensationalism and narrow victim perspective

Great movie, still very relevant. Segregation and discrimination are not a thing of the past. Support, fight or look the other way?
