La réalisation est de qualité mais je n’ai pas aimé ni le jeu d’Emma Stone que j’aime pourtant bien d’habitude (elle surjouait beaucoup), ni la façon dont l’histoire est traitée. Pour une fois qu’est choisi un sujet tel que l’homosexualité d’une reine, j’ai eu la sensation qu’elle l’était uniquement par désespoir. C’est dommage et c’est glauque. Néanmoins l’actrice Olivia Colman joue suffisamment bien pour inspirer de l’empathie et j’ai beaucoup aimé le jeu de Rachel Weisz.
Synopsis
England, early 18th century. The close relationship between Queen Anne and Sarah Churchill is threatened by the arrival of Sarah's cousin, Abigail Hill, resulting in a bitter rivalry between the two cousins to be the Queen's favourite.
