Synopsis

Viewers are captivated by 'Alien's' blend of horror and sci-fi, praising its suspenseful, minimalist approach that enhances the terror. Ridley Scott's direction is lauded for its ability to create a palpable atmosphere of dread through limited visibility of the alien, making it even more menacing. Sigourney Weaver's portrayal of Ripley is celebrated for its strength and depth, marking a significant moment in film history. The film's ability to maintain tension and fear, while using practical effects and a strong narrative, leaves a lasting impression.
👍 The alien's limited visibility heightens the horror.
👎 Some special effects may feel dated to modern viewers.

Really great movie, the practical effects were amazing, I loved how the xenomorph and chest bursting scene looked practically, it’s great. I wish they delved deeper into the story behind “Mother”, the ai system in the ship. Also Ash being a robot was a great brutal surprise and I didn’t think the Aliens franchise would have robot people. Overall, a solid movie, doesn’t necessarily hold up to some other movies I’ve watched, but lots of cool moments and characters, and it was pleasant to watch.
