"Énorme déception de la part de Shyamalan. J'avais déjà trouvé Knock at the cabin ennuyeux, mais là, le scénario et les rebondissements ne tiennent tellement pas debout qu'on a l'impression qu'on nous pense pour des idiots... Et pour être bien sûr, on nous explique régulièrement tous les trucs totalement illogiques. Pas de revirement final, des personnages qui semblent se téléporter et un tueur qui bénéficie toujours de ce dont il a besoin au moment idéal. Je ne comprends pas. Est-ce que ce ne serait pas un simple prétexte pour faire une longue publicité pour sa fille qui tient l'un des rôles principaux ?"
