7e film vu pendant le FICA. Et sûrement l’un des meilleurs ! Je me suis bien régalé devant ce film chinois qui se passe dans une ville industrielle perdue dans le désert de Gobi. Les images sont juste incroyables, le réalisateur arrive à capter de superbes images dans cette ville désolée aux paysages industriel et désertique, quasiment comme un western mais en version chinoise. On retrouve justement plein de codes des western remis au goût local, avec un personnage principal un peu brut de fonderie et surtout pas bavard, des images de ville vide, une musique omniprésente (génial, en plus c’était majoritairement les Pink Floyd). L’histoire est très originale, c’est l’histoire de la rencontre entre un homme et un chien, tous les deux rejetés par la société, sauvages, imprévisibles, et qui finissent finalement par s’apprivoiser mutuellement.
Synopsis
On the edge of the Gobi desert in Northwest China, Lang returns to his hometown after being released from jail. While working for the local dog patrol team to clear the town of stray dogs before the Olympic Games, he strikes up an unlikely connection with a black dog. These two lonely souls embark on a journey together.
