Film complexe, à ne pas prendre au premier degré mais une belle histoire sur la solitude, la découverte de soi, le reniement et l’homosexualité. L’histoire de Lee qui rencontre Eugène, une sorte de lui en jeune ingénue, s’en suit un voyage presque initiatique du retour aux sources - la maladie puis la découverte de l’autre. Film très complexe, il m’a fallu plusieurs jours avant de démêler et de me sortir de la réalité de l’image et de l’histoire en tant que telles.
Synopsis
In 1950s Mexico City, William Lee, an American ex-pat in his late forties, leads a solitary life amidst a small American community. However, the arrival in town of Eugene Allerton, a young student, stirs William into finally establishing a meaningful connection with someone.
