Je crois que je préfère davantage ce film au précédent de Cronenberg avec Mortensen, "A History of violence". Même si les deux œuvres semblent assez proches et pourraient même s’inscrire dans la même chronologie, "Les Promesses de l’ombre" m’a plus touché et plus captivé par ces scènes de violence à la fois graphiques et d’action. Et Viggo Mortensen y est impeccable comme à son habitude.
Synopsis
A Russian teenager living in London who dies during childbirth leaves clues to a midwife in her journal that could tie her child to a rape involving a violent Russian mob family.
