Summary
Happy couple, will marry and have children under the roof of the benevolent Doctor. Little by little, relationships become complex, suffocating the couple and the family, who are unaware of the tragic end towards which they are heading
🎬 Réalisé par Joachim Lafosse, inspiré d’un fait divers tragique survenu en Belgique. Le film explore la descente aux enfers d'une femme sous emprise, dans un huis clos familial étouffant. Émilie Dequenne, bouleversante, a reçu le Prix d’interprétation à Cannes "Un Certain Regard" pour ce rôle. Elle incarne avec justesse la fragilité psychologique de Murielle. Tahar Rahim, tout en subtilité, il campe un Mounir à la fois aimant, soumis et démuni. Niels Arestrup, glaçant, ambigu, il joue le docteur Pinget avec une autorité douce mais toxique. Le film s’inspire librement de l’affaire Geneviève Lhermitte, une femme belge qui a tué ses cinq enfants en 2007. Le traitement du sujet a été fait avec retenue pour éviter tout voyeurisme, et Joachim Lafosse a rencontré des psychologues et des proches de l’affaire pour mieux comprendre les mécanismes de l’emprise psychologique. 🎬 🎬 🎬
