Résumé
Un groupe de garçons riches à Los Angeles au début des années 1980 établissait une arnaque de «devenir riche» qui devient mortelle.
Men, men, men.. everywhere. I realize while watching this movie how wrong the society was. I mean, I knew it already but it made me think. Imagine watching a movie of women creating a business and fucking it all up. Now do you think this movie will be acclaimed with critics saying it’s good or do you think it will, either be categorized under the box of feminist or criticized because “women don’t know how to trade and to deal with money”? I think the latter. On top of that if you notice the only apparition of women is when they are naked. Or with the flimsiest dresses on. Because the mc needs some support and it can’t come from his bro, he gotta have a gf. But still they don’t need women, never. They go golfing: all men’s club, in their firm: only men. As if women were not existing. Only to have sex, be supportive, and dance in the background. Honestly I think this movie made me mad. Firstly, he catches interest for his gf at the beginning and we see him not even after 3dates in bed, taking her port jartel off. I know it wasn’t the main topic of the movie and they made analepse on purpose not to make it too long but it was baclé. Plus wtf happend at the end. He doesn’t care abt his girl anymore and go on with his shit.and she leaves, end of story. I don’t know what we are supposed to conclude with that: that you should not focus on your woman? That it’s all a waste of time ? Well apparently not because at the end big plot twist( that we kind of imagined) his supposedly bestfriend turns him to the police and he gets taken for murder. It also pisses me off that women are only there to be the girlfriend. Like what?? Saying that I would still love to play a part in that and once be the sexy bombshell girlfriend of a medium nerdy guy to perpetuate the fantasy of all. It would be lying if I said I do not enjoy seeing an amazing woman (latest I remember giving me the thrill was Rosie Hunting- Eminghway and honestly all the girls in Mad Max fury road) on screen being barely dressed and sexualized but a part of me think it is so wrong. So wrong to think it’s normal and real but then don’t we live to imagine? Which leads me to a quote from Ron played by Kevin Winsley: ”It's a fake. Ron Levin : But you thought it was an original. Joe Hunt : Yeah. Ron Levin : And why?... Because the perception of reality... is more real than reality itself...” Perception of reality.. it make you think. And even more so after reading a book about the photography of Alison Jackson. She makes pictures of look alike s about rumors to criticize how obsessed we are with celebrities. And she is so right. I could not deny I never look at the tabloid, we all do. But she creates scenes where the celebrities actually do what we want to imagine them do.She creates the reality we imagine, in a way she is a goddess able to animate our deepest desires. Her pictures are just randos being photographed but we want to imagine Kate Middleton and the Prince. We don’t even know the people we worship the most: from Jesus to Rihanna. But we like to imagining them a certain way and our relationship perception is what we they are. Which I think is even more interesting is that we all have different perceptions depending on our experiences. But this is another topic.
