Not a fan of the rapes or the bad acting but loved the aesthetic, outfits and design of the movie, was also too long and too many time skips confused me

🎬 John Boorman opte pour un point de vue magique, sombre et violent de la légende du roi Arthur. On sait tout de suite que l'on va regarder une oeuvre ambitieuse, les décors, l'ambiance, la musique de Wagner, les costumes, tout est féerique. La beauté de certains plans est époustouflante, les décors et les costumes sont sublimés par la photographie. Le film retrace le destin d'Arthur, de ses origines jusqu'à la quête du Graal en passant par l'épée d'Excalibur, ses différentes rencontres. L’action est rare, concentrée, et il est vrai que de ce point de vue le film a vieilli, en 1981 les séquences d’actions n’étaient pas au cœur de la recherche artistique de Boorman.
