Late Night with the Devil

The whole cinematography idea was captivating but the story went too cliche. Plus the horror elements didn't really build up the horror atmosphere I was curious about. Although that middle of the movie was keeping my curiosity awake, the end disappointed me.

I desperately wanted this movie to end. The plot was difficult to hold and I review research while watching more complex film. I can’t tell if this movie was supposed to pay homage to its corny 1970s counterparts, but I found I forced myself into the perspective of a 1970s woman watching a 1970s show on a tiny box. I hope everyone dies. I hope Jack specifically dies for even continuing this fantastical show. And I hate the actor for agreeing to partake in this shitfest.

Late Night with the Devil est un film surprenant, autant par son histoire que par son format inspiré d’une émission de télévision. Le début est particulièrement prometteur, et les personnages se révèlent rapidement attachants grâce à une présentation soignée qui détaille leurs caractéristiques dès les premières minutes. L’ambiance de “late show” à l’américaine est parfaitement retranscrite, et visuellement, l’ensemble est très réussi. Je pensais être captivé du début à la fin, mais malheureusement, le film perd de son souffle à mi-parcours, laissant place à des scènes répétitives qui ralentissent considérablement le rythme. Avec un montage plus concis, le récit aurait pu tenir en une heure sans rien perdre de son impact. Par ailleurs, certaines scènes manquent de crédibilité, probablement à cause d’un budget limité, ce qui nuit parfois à l’immersion. En conclusion, c’est une œuvre originale qui mérite d’être vue, mais plutôt par des amateurs du genre en quête d’expériences atypiques.
