Jonathan Rivière, a leading barrister, is father to a 12 year-old autistic boy, Gabriel. Since the child's birth he had left his education to Gabriel's mother Sophie, who was content to simply cash the cheques. But when Sophie suffers a ruptured aneurysm, Jonathan is abruptly parachuted into Gabriel's life.
