Gros délire très Coréen, qui casse les normes du genre de film de monstres. Yellow agent en référence au Orange agent du vietnam - L’Agent Yellow incarne la critique de Bong Joon-ho envers l’impérialisme, la bureaucratie et la destruction environnementale. C’est une métaphore des remèdes pires que le mal, un thème récurrent dans son œuvre. Bong Joon-ho est un spécialiste du seosapagi: un terme coréen qui peut être traduit par "rupture narrative" ou "destruction du récit", l’art de démolir un récit prévisible pour en construire un nouveau, imprévu et souvent plus complexe — une spécialité de Bong Joon-ho La "destruction narrative" (서사파기) est ce qui fait passer l’histoire d’une simple attaque de créature à une réflexion sur l’humanité.
