At first (for the first 15mins) I wished there are more movies like this one with visual aesthetics, peaceful and slow, 1960-1980s, pretty girl and handsome boy’s romance. Until this arrogant self-serving little Briony ruined the life of Robbie and Cecilia. I really loathed her throughout the movie even till the bitter end. She was so self-fish till the end that she even have to write about her own imagination of Robbie and Cecilia’s happy ending thinking thinking it will give satisfaction to her reader of the book she wrote. And she still gained from their story. Unyielding love during the war time and hollow death of Robbie was just tragic. I am not really fan of tragic movie and its interesting that I hated the main character of this movie, Briony, for her one lie she made as a kid but I prefere, Joe Goldberg in You, who’s a serial killer and done much worse things than her.
