Viewers are captivated by 'The Studio,' praising its dynamic portrayal of Hollywood's behind-the-scenes with a mix of humor and sarcasm. The series features a whirlwind of camera work and a lively jazz soundtrack that enhances the energetic and sometimes chaotic atmosphere. Guest appearances by real actors and directors add a layer of authenticity and fun, though the exaggerated flaws of the characters provide both humor and discomfort.

👍 Dynamic camera work and authentic guest stars.

👎 Chaotic humor and over-the-top characters may not appeal to everyone.

This series was really great. One of the best depictions of filmmaking I've seen on screen. As a filmmaker, I really enjoyed how in-depth and thorough everything was, and how specific and detailed it went. The terms they used, the equipment and settings they were in perfectly encapsulates filmmaking. Seth Rogen was just all right. He was the straight man supporting the other vibrant and funny characters. I thought Sal and Quinn's dynamic was really funny, and their personalities bounced off each other. I really enjoyed all the cameos of actors and directors and stuff like that, especially the Adam Scott and Martin Scorsese. They weren't just one-off gags. They were actually part of the story and existed in that universe, and I thought that was cool. A really good episode I liked was the pediatric ontologist episode. Although it isn't my favorite or the funniest, it's such a relatable issue that filmmakers deal with people downplaying the effects of cinema and its state in the world. People constantly talk about how the movies have never been the same since COVID, and they'd rather watch binge-worthy shows on streaming. Also, how the ontologists talk about how movies are not that important compared to medicine, and Matt rebukes by saying that movies are what makes life worth living, which I found really compelling and relatable. The whole episode encapsulates that issue that filmmakers have trying to prove themselves to other people, which I loved. I think the best episode was the oner. The oner had such a funny story about how Matt kept on interrupting the oner and ruining the shot. And the technical aspect that the whole episode was done in one shot was also amazing and really well done. I think the funniest episodes were definitely the last two. They were so chaotic and all over the place. Bryan Cranston and Zoe Kravitz were amazing in these two episodes. They really knew how to play two heavily intoxicated people. This is a really fun and unique show diving into the world of filmmaking, and I haven't seen anything like it. Definitely a top show for me. 9/10
