BELLEWOORDS rated 9/10

As I said before, I love talking about the movies and series I watch, so here I am again sharing my thoughts about this C-drama entitled Always Home. This drama caught my attention right away because it gave off a nostalgic feeling—something that reminded me of my childhood and high school days. I chose to watch it because I loved When I Fly Towards You and Run Through River, and since I couldn’t find anything else with the same vibe, when I found out Always Home was similar, I didn’t even search for more details—I watched it immediately. When it comes to acting, I’d say it’s okay. It's average—not amazing, but definitely not bad. There’s nothing to complain about. As for the plot, it’s actually good. I can’t really explain it, but it focuses more on friendship than love. In C-dramas, slow burn romance is common—and I usually love that—but with this series, you don’t really feel the slow burn. If I compare it to When I Fly Towards You, that series really focused on the slow process of falling in love. But here, it felt more like friends who deeply care about each other, and honestly, I LOVED it. I'm glad they highlighted friendship more than romance. There’s a lot to learn from this drama—family, love, friendship, academic pressure, and more. It gave me vibes similar to Reply 1988, but in C-drama form. The cinematography also added to that nostalgic feeling I was talking about—it really came through visually. If there’s something I didn’t like, it’s the fact that there wasn’t a love triangle—it felt more like a love hexagon or even more! I was actually surprised that all of that didn’t ruin their friendship. Another thing is that even when they became adults, they still felt like high schoolers to me, which was kind of funny. Now, let’s talk about my favorite scenes! First, when Jiang Xichi got injured and Huan Er looked for football players who got injured but still played—green flag behavior right there. Second, the scene when Jiang Xichi’s dad died—man, the acting there was lit! I cried too. Third, when the three of them drank alcohol and Huan Er woke up and Jiang Xichi was missing—I was screaming. Fourth, the cake scene—how he got the cake was hilarious, but at least Huan Er got to eat it. Fifth, when the girls graduated and had to walk a long way for a surprise—it was so funny, though it didn’t end that well. Sixth, when Du Man and Song Cong kissed—WHAT?! I was shook. Seventh, Jiang Xichi’s jealous moment as a best friend—like bro, you’re just a best friend. Eighth, when he left a life-changing project just to go to the forest during a typhoon because Huan Er was there. Lastly, the edited video Jiang Xichi made—bro, I cried again! Overall, I love this series so much. I’d watch it over and over again. There’s so much to learn—about friendship, family, love, and growing up. I’d rate it 1,000,000 out of 10! To Always Home, thank you for the warmth. And to Huan Er and Jiang Xichi, thank you for showing that real care doesn't need grand gestures—just presence, patience, and quiet love.
