Alors que l’astronaute Paula est censée retourner sur Terre, elle disparaît mystérieusement. Son mari et sa fille, Sven et Charlie, partent à sa recherche. Mais, juste avant de conclure sa mission sur l’ISS, Paula a reçu un message émanant d’une forme de vie extraterrestre qui disait “bonjour”. La scientifique parvient à déterminer quand et où cette forme de vie entend rejoindre notre planète et communique ces informations sur Terre. L’astronaute sait également que son collègue Hadi ne souhaite pas qu’elle enquête sur le sujet. Ce dernier est complice de son employeur Mudhi. Paula et Hadi sont ensuite tues dans un accident d’avion.
