Partie 2
Admittedly, I didn’t rank this show when finishing the first season, and I’m just now ranking this show based on what I remember of Season 1 and what I watched of Season 2. Firstly, this show is great. No matter the little details and complaints I have, I really enjoy this show. It fills the same hole that the Harry Potter franchise filled. The mystical creatures and the cool powers and magic is super fun to watch. I feel like there hasn’t been a good relevant show about magic high schoolers ever since Harry Potter and that sucks. Wednesday is new, unique, and really good. In season 1, I liked the romance between Tyler and Wednesday, and I remember Enid growing and having a good character arc in season 1. Other than that, I have little to no recollection of season 1. This isn’t to say season 1 is bad, far from it, it’s just been a long time since I watched season 1 in 2022. Season 2 however… I think there’s a ton of issues and problems, but I still enjoyed it, I just think they need to tighten up and make sure season 3 won’t be as unnecessarily convoluted like season 2. Firstly, there were so many different storylines that don’t really seem to go anywhere or end in a satisfying way. Like, did we need that whole cult subplot with Bianca and her mom? Also the stalking avian being the lady from the hospital didn’t feel satisfying, it just felt odd and misplaced. There were also many story elements that I thought would take the full season to really flesh out and see a grand finale at the end, but they get resolved swiftly in a few episodes, which feels very overwhelming as a viewer. Like on episode 5, it felt like Wednesday defeated like 20 stalkers and monsters and villains. It all just felt like so much crammed into this season that I didn’t really like how they executed it. I liked that Wednesday’s family is more involved in season 2, it’s a welcome addition and I love the Addams family dynamic. Principal Dort was also fun to see as a character, he’s such a goofy villain and I loved to see his demise. So overall, good show, season 1 better (from what I remember) and season 2 really overwhelming but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Please make Tyler good in season 3 please 🙏 8/10

The series 'Wednesday' has garnered mixed reactions, with many praising Jenna Ortega's portrayal of the iconic character, which is seen as a highlight. The gothic ambiance and nods to classic Tim Burton style are appreciated, though some feel the series lacks originality, leaning heavily on familiar tropes from teen dramas and supernatural shows. While the series attempts to blend dark humor with mystery, it receives criticism for its predictable plot and sometimes clichéd romantic subplots.
👍 Jenna Ortega's performance is a standout.
👎 May feel derivative and overly focused on teen drama clichés.
