Peacemaker has garnered a mix of reactions, with viewers generally enjoying the quirky, humorous tone and John Cena's performance. Season 1 is praised for its engaging character dynamics and intriguing plot, while Season 2 receives mixed reviews for its focus shift and less satisfying storyline developments. The series is noted for its comedic elements and some emotional depth, but inconsistencies and a disappointing finale in Season 2 have left some viewers wanting.
👍 John Cena's performance is a standout.
👎 Season 2 finale may disappoint.

Again with Wednesday, I haven’t watched Season 1 of Peacemaker in a few years, so my review may be a bit fuzzy and mainly reviewing Season 2. So season 1, I remember liking a lot. The dynamic with Peacemaker and his father was fun to see. The butterfly alien story felt interesting yet grounded. Vigilante was easily my favorite character this season, he reminds me of a more unhinged chaotic version of Deadpool. I didn’t care much about Adebayo, Economos or Hartcourt. They had some funny moments, but the focus was less on them and more on Peacemaker. So season 1 was a good season and I enjoyed watching it. Now onto season 2. Season 2 focused more on the side characters, which at first was jarring but I liked seeing a new side of the characters we’ve already seen in Season 1. Also the idea of finding a parallel universe where your brother and dad are alive was a good plot. I really enjoyed episodes 1-7. Episode 6 was easily the best, revealing that the parallel dimension is riddled with racists and Nazis was a great end to the episode. Also episode 7 was such an emotional episode. It was sad seeing Peacemaker relive his trauma again and John Cenas acting was absolutely incredible in that scene. It felt impactful and emotional, you could feel his characters emotion through the scene. I was really excited to see what they had in store for the last two episodes. And then… they kinda dropped the ball in Episode 8. They leave the Nazi universe, and it’s never brought up again. I thought they would bring back Peacemaker’s alternate universe brother since he just witnessed Peacemaker and his friends kill his dad, but they kinda just… forget about him. They focus on Peacemaker and Hartcout’s relationship, which is interesting, but I don’t think their relationship is important enough to take up so much time in the finale of this show. Also, Flag Sr. has a complete character change in this series. His character, which was confirmed to be the same in Creature Commandos worked with metahumans, and now all of a sudden he has this strong hate for metahumans? He even says how he hates Lex Luther, but still believes in the same hatred Lex Luther had in Superman. Also, side note. They like… flanderized Vigilante this season??? Like, in season 1, Vigilante was an interesting character with funny moments and jokes and he actually felt like a real person. In season 2, he feels like a completely different person. Every time he’s on screen, he acts like even more of an idiot than he was in season 1 and he just acts people about fun facts about animals, and it feels like they are exaggerating the subtle autism traits they gave him in season 1 to a great extreme in season 2, making him a bumbling idiot. The finale felt boring. Looking past all the long winded music sequences, Peacemaker and his friends make an agency and Peacemaker gets thrown into an alternate dimensionional prison. All of this sets up other projects and movies, but it feels like such a unsatisfying ending. I did not like it and it felt like the prior episodes were all a waste of time. The first season was so good, but this season was such a bummer. Season 1 I would’ve ranked a 8/10, and season 2 I would rank it 6/10. So to average it out, I give it a 7/10.
