Thank you for using Memorizer!
Data privacy is paramount when using an app that contains personal content. Memorizer is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your data. Our goal is to help you better organize, find and share your memories, while respecting your privacy. That’s why we’ve written this Privacy Policy to provide you with transparency about what we do. This applies to your use of the Memorizer app or other services that Memorizer, a service marketed by 1SPIRE SAS (“Memorizer,” the “service,” “we”), could offer.
Memorizer helps you easily store, find and share all your everyday memories. To achieve this, we are working hard at Station F to provide you with the best mobile ergonomics and the best image, barcodes and text recognition technologies.
If you are tired of forgetting the name of the book you read just a year ago, the tricks that make your favorite recipes a success, the restaurants you absolutely want to visit in Lille or Marseille, the name of this bottle of wine you definitely need to have in your cellar… then Memorizer is for you.
And we’ll go further. Memorizer will help you work your memory with your own memories. Life goes by quickly, and in the end we are left with our memories, so let’s protect them!
On Memorizer, your memories belong to you. The only people who will be able to see some of your data will be the friends you selected to have access to all or part of your memories… at your convenience.
Welcome to Memorizer! For a better memory, a better culture, a better life.
When you use our services, you share your information with Memorizer, a service marketed by 1SPIRE SAS. 1SPIRE SAS is responsible for data processing.
To create your account we need your name, date of birth and phone number. They will allow you to login on Memorizer.
Your name is used as an identifier, your date of registration allows us to know if you are of the legal minimum age, your phone number is used to authenticate your account.
Your profile picture will allow you to enjoy a more personal experience with your loved ones.
Memorizer uses access to your photo gallery to make it easier for you to find your memories. You can refuse this access but it allows you to take full advantage of our services and technologies.
To offer you our services, we may have to transfer your information to third parties outside the European Union. More information on these topics can be find in sections 10, 11 and 15 of this article.
We have a data tracking and deletion policy in place, which specifies how long we store your information. As a general rule, we keep the information we collect as long as you actively use the Memorizer app. If you don’t open the app for more than 12 months, we’ll delete most of the data we’ve collected.
If you live in the European Union, you have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority of your country of residence. In France, you can file a complaint with the CNIL.
Finally, you have the right to give us instructions on how to process (delete or retain) your personal data in the event of death.
If you want to access your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it, you can send us an email to [email protected] at any time.
We collect three types of information as described in the following articles:
When you sign up for Memorizer, you voluntarily share certain information, including your name, email address, phone number, photos, notes, and other data you provide to us. You can also share accurate location data with us using your device’s settings, or through photos. We will also use your IP address, which is used to give your location approximately, even if you do not choose to share your precise position. This will allow you to sort your memories by location.
Registration:
When you register on Memorizer, you give us a name, date of birth and phone number. During this process,we’ll send you an SMS with a code that authenticates your account (we think this method of verification is both simpler and safer compared to using a password). If you don’t receive an SMS verification code, you can get a phone call.
If you connect your Facebook, Apple, Google or other third-party accounts to Memorizer, we receive information from those accounts (e.g. your friends or contacts), and use it to enhance your Memorizer experience. This depends on the privacy policies or settings of these accounts.
Photo Gallery:
When onboarding on the app (and then if not initially accepted) we offer you to share your photo gallery in order to benefit from The Memorizer technologies of automatic ranking of your memories.
Added photos from the app:
You can also add a memory directly to the app by taking a photo, scanning a barcode or using our manual form. You can also add a note or review.
Address book:
We ask you to share your address book if you wish, so you can easily find your friends who are already on Memorizer. Inviting them then becomes easier. As a precaution only the phone numbers of your contacts arrive at our servers, and this after encryption operations (or technically “salting” and “hashing”). We protect the security of your address book’s data by making it unreadable, so that even internally, no one can access the contents of that data.
Communication:
You can also provide us with information via the app chat or via email at [email protected].
When you use a website, mobile app or other Internet service, the generation and recording of information about the Internet and the activity of the electronic network is almost systematic. The same is true when you use Memorizer.
Here’s the type of information we can collect:
We can collect information that other users provide us about you when they use our services. For example, if another user allows us to collect the contents of their address book on their phone, and you are among their contacts, we may associate the data we collect with other information about you. And for example let you know that a friend has joined Memorizer.
We can also obtain information from third-party sources, and combine it with the data we collect directly through our services. For example, we may obtain information from third parties to help us identify your interests or retrieve your souvenir lists. This allows us to improve your experience and customize it.
We want to offer you the most comprehensive application using the photo gallery and your memories. That’s why we might use your information to:

Complaint filing? If you live in the European Union, you have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority of the Member State where you live. For example, if you live in France, you can file a complaint with the CNIL.
We may have to make changes to this policy. These will then be published on this page. If you continue to use Memorizer after these changes come into effect, you will in fact accept the new policy. If the changes are significant, we may notify you in advance or obtain your consent under the conditions of the law.
