Summary

'Funny, sexy and breathtakingly romantic' EMILY HENRY 'A spellbinding modern fairytale, sexy and warm and full of hope and the power of love' BOLU BABALOLA One florist. One pianist. One love story . . . One hundred years in the making. Ricki Wilde has many talents, but being a Wilde isn't one of them. As the impulsive, artistic daughter of a powerful Atlanta dynasty, she's the opposite of her famous socialite sisters. In her bones, Ricki knows that somewhere, a more exciting life awaits her. So, when she is invited to rent the bottom floor of a Harlem brownstone, Ricki jumps at the chance for a fresh start. She leaves behind her wealth and chaotic romantic decisions to realize her dream of opening a flower shop. And just beneath the surface of her new neighbourhood, the music, stories and dazzling drama of the Harlem Renaissance still simmer. Then one evening in February, as the heady scent of night-blooming jasmine fills the air, Ricki encounters a handsome stranger who knocks her world off balance in the most unexpected way. Set against the backdrop of modern Harlem and Renaissance glamour, A Love Song for Ricki Wilde is a swoon-worthy love story of two passionate artists drawn to the magic, romance, and opportunity of New York. Completely shocked at how this book turned out to be so different than what I thought i would read. I definitely think this book will last on my mind for some time and I will read this again. I think it’s one of my favorite reads of this year and I’ve never read a book like this. Maybe I’m new to this, I don’t know. But a the end of the day, it’s just what you feel when you experience something. At the beginning it was hard for me to keep reading it. It didn’t have that something that would get me more curious about the story. But I kept going and it took me by surprise like no other book did and I started getting obsessed. I knew what was going to happen before it happened but I don’t mind because even though I had my theories, having the confirmation was like a very big shock to me. Reading what happened to Ezra, it felt like I was there. I couldn’t believe it and it kept me on my toes the rest of the book. I still felt the shock of knowing what happened to him despite having guessed it before so as long as I’m not insensitive to the story and the emotions, i will still consider it a great experience. It’s so beautiful and I’m going to miss this story. I kinda got attached to the characters, especially to Ezra so I’m a little bit nostalgic and I’m happy I’ve read that book.
