Le seul reproche que je fais à ce film (et à la majorité des biopics) ce sont toutes les libertés qu’il prenne dans le scénario. Joy a une belle vie. C’est un exemple de réussite mais honnêtement je ne vois pas l’intérêt de lui créer une demi-sœur fictive ou de gonfler les chiffres. Pour moi, c'est manipuler la vérité et je prouve ça dommage.
Un film tellement prenant, c'est rare que je sois autant embarquée ! On suit l'histoire de Joy qui a mis sa propre vie au second plan afin de s'occuper de sa famille à qui elle se consacre entièrement, jusqu'au jour où elle éclate et que ses idées d'inventions reprennent le dessus. Après quelques déboires dans le business, elle va devenir une grande femme d'affaire. Un scénario inspirant et motivant porté par une Jennifer Lawrence toujours aussi puissante et envoûtante, une grande actrice ! Il met en lumière l'importance de s'écouter et de persévérer tout en mettant en image l'idéologie American's Dream à une époque où c'était encore possible.
Le fascinant et émouvant parcours, sur 40 ans, d'une femme farouchement déterminée à réussir, en dépit de son excentrique et dysfonctionnelle famille, et à fonder un empire d'un milliard de dollars. Au-delà de la femme d'exception, Joy incarne le rêve américain dans cette comédie dramatique, mêlant portrait de famille, trahisons, déraison et sentiments.
