Summary
This romantic drama by Michelangelo Antonioni follows the love life of Vittoria, a beautiful literary translator living in Rome. After splitting from her writer boyfriend, Riccardo, Vittoria meets Piero, a lively stockbroker, on the hectic floor of the Roman stock exchange. Though Vittoria and Piero begin a relationship, it is not one without difficulties, and their commitment to one another is tested during an eclipse.

Pour éviter les ennuis d'argent et avoir une vie plus large, Vittoria, fille d'employés de condition modeste, a vécu pendant trois ans avec Ricardo, jeune attaché d'ambassade. Mais cette vie sans amour lasse la jeune femme, et malgré les supplications de Ricardo, elle rompt avec lui. Elle rencontre alors à la Bourse, où elle retrouve sa mère qui joue pour occuper ses loisirs, un jeune agent de change avec qui elle essaie de réapprendre à aimer. Mais le jeune homme va la décevoir et Vittoria va bientôt retrouver le goût amer de la solitude... —- Très lent
