Synopsis
In the wake of the devastating war against the RDA and the loss of their eldest son, Jake Sully and Neytiri face a new threat on Pandora: the Ash People, a violent and power-hungry Na'vi tribe led by the ruthless Varang. Jake's family must fight for their survival and the future of Pandora in a conflict that pushes them to their emotional and physical limits.

Séance cinéma magique. James Cameron ne me déçoit pas de nouveau. Ce troisième volet offre une ambiance plus sombre, plus primal mais avec des émotions toujours aussi fortes (je pense notamment à la confrontation de Jake et Spider dans la forêt). L'évolution du colonel Quaritch fonctionne très bien. Celle de Neytiri aussi, son retranchement dans la foi et sa haine envers les humains sont rès bien exploités. La famille Sully en pleine ébullition, les parents et enfants séparés (matérialisé aussi physiquement, ils sont réellement séparés, éloignés). Et parlons de ce nouveau peuple du feu, mené par Varang. Réussi ! Peu développé dans le film, j'aurais aimé une présence plus importante à l'écran et moins manichéen. Mais très bon personnage. Et sa relation avec Quaritch fonctionne très bien aussi, quoique déconcertante par moment... Cependant, quelques petits ventres mous à souligner et des situations redondantes par rapport aux films précédents. Mais les visuels sont toujours aussi spectaculaires, immersifs.
