Opinions on Robert Eggers' 'Nosferatu' are mixed, with many praising its visual allure and atmospheric depth, largely attributed to Lily-Rose Depp's compelling performance. However, criticisms focus on its slow pacing and a narrative that some found lacking in innovation and coherence. The film's gothic aesthetic and horror elements received accolades, but its failure to fully engage some viewers left them wanting more from the storyline and character development.
👍 Stunning visual and atmospheric depth.
👎 May feel slow and underwhelming in narrative.

Lily-Rose Depp's performance was a veritable tour de force genuinely nonpareil in its execution. Her co-star's portrayal of the husband was itself commendable and his command of nuanced facial expressions during the castle sequence was particularly laudable. The film astutely eschews gratuitous jump scares, grounding its weak sense of unease not in visceral frights but in a psychologically intricate and utterly captivating narrative.
